Lucknow: The 42nd All India KD Singh ‘Babu’ Men’s Invitation Prize Money Hockey Competition was organized from 04 to 12 October 2024 by the Regional Sports Office, Lucknow under the aegis of Sports Department, Uttar Pradesh at Padmashree Mohd. Shahid Synthetic Hockey Stadium, Vijayantkhand, Gomtinagar Lucknow.
On 09.10.2024, the 11th match of the competition was played between Indian Oil vs Air Force in which Indian Oil defeated Air Force by a margin of 7-1. From the Indian Oil team side, Roshan Minj scored a field goal in the 7th minute of the match and Gurjinder Singh scored a goal from a penalty corner in the 17th minute, taking his team ahead by 2-0.
In reply, Lovedeep Singh converted a penalty stroke in the 33rd minute of the match, taking his team’s score to 1-2. After which Indian Oil players played aggressively and in the 36th minute of the match, Gurjinder Singh scored a goal from a penalty stroke, Arman Qureshi scored a field goal in the 45th minute, Sukhwinder Singh scored a field goal in the 54th minute and in the 59th minute, Arman Qureshi again scored a field goal and Afan Younis scored a field goal, taking their team’s score to 7-1. This score remained till the end.
The 12th match of the tournament was played between Navy vs BPCL in which Navy defeated BPL by a margin of 3-2. In the 22nd minute of the match, Abhishek Lakra from BPCL team converted a penalty corner into a goal and opened his team’s account with a score of 1-0, in reply to which Sushil Dhanwar from Navy team scored two consecutive goals from penalty corners in the 36th and 45th minutes of the match and made his team’s score 2-1.
Again, in the 51st minute of the match, Yogesh Singh from Navy team converted a penalty corner into a goal and made his team’s score 3-1. In the last minute of the match, Abhishek Lakra from BPCL team scored a goal from a penalty corner and made his team’s score 2-3. This score remained till the end.
